What an affidavit is
An affidavit is generally a written statement of facts made under oath or affirmation. Organizations may use affidavits to document residency, circumstances or other information. The exact purpose and wording come from the organization requesting the statement or the person preparing it. A sworn statement should contain facts the signer can honestly attest to.
The role of the notary
When an affidavit calls for a sworn notarial act, the notary administers the oath or affirmation and completes the appropriate certificate. Ann does not independently investigate the facts in the statement, choose its wording or certify that its claims are true. Notarization does not mean that a court or agency has approved the contents.
What to bring
Bring the entire affidavit, current photo identification and any instructions from the receiving organization. Avoid signing until Ann gives instructions. If the form has no notarial certificate or the instructions are unclear, contact its preparer or recipient before the appointment. The notary cannot choose a legal form for you.
Conyers appointments
A mobile visit can be arranged at your home, office or another agreed location in Conyers. If more than one signer needs notarization, mention this when asking for a quote. The $2 per-act notarial fee is separate from travel. For related school or residency paperwork, use the school forms guide and verify the school’s own requirements.
Standard travel & convenience: $45 within 10 driving miles of Conyers City Hall, plus $2 per notarial act. Hospital and nursing home visits add $20. Farther travel is quoted individually. Fees and availability are confirmed before booking.
